When?

All racers will begin at 8am on Sunday August 19, 2012.  The park opens at 6am. The transition area and road entry to the race area close at 7am.

Where?

Dr. Edmund A Babler Memorial State Park
800 Guy Park Drive Wildwood, MO 63005

Parking attendants and signs will direct you from the park entrance to the race site.

• • Bike course is a 4 mile, counter-clockwise loop on Guy Park Drive and Wirth Drive.
  • Run course is along the bike/hike trail and on grass coming off the transition area.

How Far?

There are two race options. 

• • Distance: 1.5 mile run, 16 mile bike and 3 mile run.
  • Sprint: 1.5 mile run, 8 mile bike and 1.5 mile run.

You may race as an individual or stick to one sport and race as a two-person team.

Note: All athletes must be 16 years old or older.

Individual Entrance Fee

• • Individual (solo duathlon athlete) registration received on or before August 1: $40
  • Individual (solo duathlon athlete) registration Thurs, August 2 - Aug 15: $45
  • Individual (solo duathlon athlete) registration on race day: $50

Team Entrance Fee

• • Team registration (one runner and one biker) received on or before August 1: $55
  • Team registration (one runner and one biker) Thurs, August 2 - Aug 15: $65
  • Team registration (one runner and one biker) on race day: $75

Race T-shirt

Entrants who pre-register will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Entrants registering on the day of the race will receive a T-shirt if available.  We will have some for sale.

Awards

Medals and Swim Bike Run gift cards will be distributed to the overall best male solo, female solo, and best team finish. Medals and other awards will be given to top finishers in age categories. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, taking place at the event stage at noon.  Race proceeds benefit YMCA’s Strong Community Campaign.

Weather Conditions

In the event that the course is too wet from rain, for the safety of our participants, we’ll reduce the race to a 4 mile run only. In the case of severe weather, we will cancel the race altogether and offer racers a complimentary race registration for the 2013 Babler Beast.
